Log inHow to import Routing Headers with the Excel import template?
In this video, I will go through the Excel import template for routing header.
This is what happens in the video
Routing in Business Central is made up by routing header and routing lines, but they are in separate tables and you need to import them separately.
We have only four fields in the routing header.
And if the fields is marked with the red, it means it’s a minimum requirement or a mandatory field.
In this case, they all are, and if it has a grey background, it means it has an underlying table that it should look into.
So let’s start with number.
Number is the number you want to give your routing and description is, of course, the a description of the routing.
Status when you import the routing header for the first time, it is crucial that you use the status new, otherwise, you cannot import the routing lines afterwards.
And you can see we have an underlying table because which is grey and we go to the lookup values and you can see the values for the routing header status is new, certified, under development, and closed.
And just to make sure on how to use the template.
I note again, all rooting headers must be imported with status new otherwise it is impossible, so you can always look into this page.
Under status and once you’ve imported all the lines, you can import the header again with the correct status.
Normally, that will be certified.
And finally type, and you can see if it’s a serial or a parallel routing and you can see that in another video.
