If you are getting started with Business Central, one of the first things you need to do is set up your users. The process is tightly connected to your Microsoft 365 setup, and that connection determines which users you can bring into the system. This article walks you through how it works.
You create new users in Business Central by importing them from Microsoft 365. Open the user list, choose “Get users from Office 365”, and the system imports every user who has a Business Central license in your Microsoft 365 tenant. You do not create users manually. The license assignment in Microsoft 365 controls who shows up in Business Central.
Finding the user list in Business Central
The first step is to locate the user list. When you open it on a fresh setup, you will typically see only yourself listed. That is the starting point before you import the rest of your colleagues.
Importing users from Microsoft 365
To add new users, you use the “Get users from Office 365” action in the user list. This pulls users directly from your Microsoft 365 environment.
