The job card in Business Central lets you print one page per operation on a released production order. You use it to tell operators what to do and to collect their feedback after production.

You find the job card on the released production order under the Process tab. Each operation gets its own page, so a production order with six operations prints six pages.

Each page shows the production order number, routing number, the item being produced, and the time needed for that specific operation. Operators write back the output quantity, scrap quantity, date, and who did the work. You then enter that data into your output journal or production journal.

Printing the job card from the released production order

From the released production order in Business Central, you can print a job card. The job card follows the operations on the production order. It serves two purposes: it tells the operators what to do, and it lets the operators record the time you want to enter back into your production journal or output journal.

To print it, open the released production order, go to the Process tab, and select Job Card. Business Central prints one page per operation.

One page per operation

If you have a production order with six operations, the job card prints as six pages. When you look at each page, you see the production order number, the routing number, and similar details.

The list below shows which item is part of the production order and the time needed for the operation. For example, operation number 10 has its own page, operation number 20 is on the second page, operation number 30 on the third page, and so on.

Collecting feedback from operators

The job card is also a report to write into. For each operation, the operator can enter the output, the scrap quantity, the date, and who did the work. This gives the operator the information needed to do the job and a structured way to give feedback once production is done.
