When you have created the order hierarchy, it’s default created as firm planned production orders if you create it from a sales order.

Now when you enter the firm planned production order, either from sales order or normally from the order list, and change status, which is standard functionality in the way you produce in Business Central, the next time you will enter your hierarchy, it’s still part of the hierarchy, it’s just entered here as released, and likewise when you finish it, it will be entered here as finished, and it’s still possible to open from in here.

So, it’s easy for the salesperson to drill down the hierarchy from the sales line and see the status on the different production orders.
