This is what happens in the video
When you ship a transfer order in Business Central using simple warehouse functionality, you enter the quantities directly on the transfer order lines and post the shipment. The quantity to ship fields are filled in automatically when you are not running advanced warehouse with bins and receipts.
You can ship partial quantities on a line. If you ship less than the full quantity, the remaining amount stays on the line as quantity to ship, so you can send it from your location later.
Once you post the shipment, the items move to the transit location until they are received at the destination.
Shipping a transfer order in Business Central with simple warehouse
Transfer orders let you move items between locations in Business Central. When you have created a transfer order and want to ship the items, the process is straightforward if you are using the simple warehouse setup without bins and receipts.
Start by opening the transfer order. In this example, the order has two lines: one item with a quantity of 10 and another with a quantity of 20. You want to send these out of your transfer-from location, which is the first location that handles the shipment.
Entering quantities to ship
In the Quantity to Ship field on each line, you enter the quantities you want to ship. When you run the simple warehouse functionality, these fields are filled in by default with the full line quantity, so you only need to adjust them if you are shipping less.
You can handle a partial shipment on a line. In this case, you ship 10 on the first line and 15 on the second line instead of the full 20. That leaves a remainder to send later.
Posting the shipment
When the quantities are ready, you select Post and choose Ship, since you are shipping the items out of your first location. Posting the shipment moves both lines to the transit location.
After posting, the second line shows a quantity shipped of 15 and a remaining quantity to ship of 5. That remaining 5 is what you still need to send from your first location. You can post it in a later shipment when the items are ready.
