With job time mobile, the user can register time as exact time or using the start/stop functionality.
Job Time Mobile gives you two ways to register time in Business Central. You can register exact time by selecting a job number, job task number, and entering the hours directly. Or you can use the start/stop functionality, which runs a timer you start when you begin work and stop when you are done.
You control access per user. Some users can register both ways, while others can be limited to just one method.
Registering exact time in Job Time Mobile
To register exact time, you select the register time option. From there you pick the job number, which is straightforward, and then follow the steps to choose the job task number. You can add a description to the entry.
Next, you enter the quantity in the unit of measure you have been set up for. For example, if the unit is hours, you can enter 1.2 hours. This creates a line in the job journal.
Using the start/stop timer
The start/stop functionality works as a timer. You select start when you begin a task, and the app shows how long the timer has been running. When you finish, you stop the timer and process the registered time.
Most of the other actions in the app apply to the start/stop functionality as well.
Setting up user access to time registration methods
You decide which methods each user can access by controlling the tiles available to them. If you give a user access to all the tiles, they can use both exact time registration and the start/stop timer. You can also set up specific users to use only one method, while others use the other, or allow them to use both.
