The concept of the job time mobile is actually very simple. It’s within Business central directly, you can register time directly as a fixed time say for instance, two hours, three hours, whatever.

Job Time Mobile lets you register time and materials for jobs directly in Business Central from a mobile device. You register time either as a fixed entry, for example two or three hours, or you use start-stop functionality to track time while you work.

You post material consumption for jobs by adding items to a job journal line. The solution is flow based, so when you tap register time, it guides you through job number, task number and the rest of the process.

You can customise the tiles, rename them, build your own tiles and flows, and show or hide flows and tiles per user. The solution runs out of the box and builds on standard Business Central functionality.

Job Time Mobile creates a job journal line if your resource card is not set up to use timesheets. It creates a timesheet line if the resource card is set up to use timesheets.

What Job Time Mobile does

The concept behind Job Time Mobile is simple. You register time directly in Business Central from your mobile device, and you have two ways to do it.

You can register a fixed time entry, such as two hours or three hours. Or you can use the start-stop functionality, where you start the clock when you begin working and stop it when you finish. The collected time is then processed into time entries.

You also post material consumption for jobs. There is a material posting function where you add items to a job journal line, so both your hours and the materials you use end up registered against the job.

Flow based registration that guides the user

Everything in Job Time Mobile is flow based. When you tap register time, the solution starts a process that asks you for the job number, the task number and the other details it needs. You move through the registration step by step rather than filling in a form.

This makes the daily registration straightforward for the people on the floor or out on a job, without them needing to know their way around Business Central.

Customising tiles and flows per user

You can modify all the tiles, including their names, and you can build your own tiles and your own flows to match how your business works. You can also show or hide flows and tiles per user, so each person sees only what is relevant to them.

Built on standard Business Central functionality

Job Time Mobile runs directly out of the box, and the logic behind it is standard Business Central functionality. The solution simply grabs the data in a smart way and presents it through the mobile flows.

The result depends on your resource card setup. If the resource card is not set up to use timesheets, Job Time Mobile creates a job journal line. If the resource card is set up to use timesheets, it creates a timesheet line instead.
