This is what happens in the video

In Rental Management for Business Central, you can mix rental items and sales items on the same sales order. You do not need to create separate orders for items you rent out and items you sell.

Rental Management reuses the standard sales, posting, transfer, and warehouse functionality in Business Central. This means rental documents behave the same way as the standard documents you already know.

If you use the warehouse functionality, you can create combined picks that cover both the rental lines and the sales lines on a single order.

Rental Management Builds on Standard Business Central Functionality

When we built Rental Management, the goal was to use the standard functionality in Business Central as much as possible. The sales functionality, the posting functionality, and the transfer functionality all work the same way they do in standard Business Central.

That approach keeps things familiar. If you already know how to work with sales orders and warehouse processes in Business Central, you don’t have to learn a separate set of rules to handle rentals.

Mixing Rental and Sales Items on the Same Sales Order

Because Rental Management uses the standard sales order, you can combine different types of lines on one document. If you want to sell an item to a customer and also rent out something to the same customer, you can put both on a single sales order.

You create one combined sales order with different items on it, instead of splitting the transaction across multiple documents.

Combined Warehouse Picks for Rental and Sales

If you run the warehouse functionality, you can take this a step further. It’s possible to create combined picks that cover both the rental and the sales lines on the order. You decide exactly how you want your sales order and the resulting warehouse activity to look.
