Every time you calculate for freights and fee, it will or click this action. It will actually delete the existing freights and fee lines on the sales order and recreate them. This means if you are changing, for instance, quantity now, we have 6,000 and if we changing quantity on some of the lines or even adding new lines below, let’s just try for the example to add other items maybe.

When you work with freight and fee calculations on a sales order in Business Central, the calculation function recreates the freight and fee lines every time you run it. If you change quantities or add new lines, you can simply run the calculation again to get updated freight and fees that match the current order.

How the Freight and Fee Calculation Works on a Sales Order

Every time you calculate freight and fees, the function deletes the existing freight and fee lines on the sales order and recreates them from scratch. This is the key thing to understand about how the calculation behaves.

It is not adding to what is already there. It clears out the old lines and builds new ones based on the current state of the order.

Recalculating Freight and Fees After Changing Quantities or Adding Lines

This behaviour matters when you make changes to a sales order after the first calculation. For example, if you change the quantity on some of the lines, or add completely new item lines below the existing ones, the freight and fees no longer reflect the order.

To fix this, you just run the calculation function again. It deletes the existing freight and fee lines and recreates them, this time with the new freight and fees that match the updated quantities and the added lines.

That makes it straightforward to keep freight and fees correct throughout the process. Whenever the order changes, recalculate, and the lines update to reflect what is actually on the order.
