After you install the Document Handling app in Business Central, you still need to activate it before you can use it. The activation runs through a short setup guide where you enter your email address for trial communication. You get a 60-day trial period to test whether the app meets your requirements. You can reopen the setup guide at any time under Assisted Setup.

Activating Document Handling after installation

Once you have downloaded and installed Document Handling, the app is not ready to use straight away. You first need to activate it.

On the Role Center, a notification appears telling you that Document Handling has been installed but not yet activated. To start the activation, click Activate Document Handling now.

Entering your email for the trial period

The activation opens the Document Handling setup guide. Here you enter your email address, which is used for communication about the trial period.

All the apps come with a 60-day trial period. During this time you can try the product and see if it meets your requirements before deciding whether to keep using it.

Finishing the setup guide

From the setup guide you can either finish the setup directly or start by setting up your email signature. If you finish the setup guide, Document Handling is set up and ready for use.

You can always find the setup guide again under Assisted Setup.

Managing extensions and activation

Under install extensions you can add features and integrations, and you can set up and activate Document Handling from here as well.
