Business Central lets you send emails to your vendors directly from the purchase management journal. You can email an entire purchase order, or you can send an email about a single order line. This is useful when you only need to follow up on one item rather than the whole order.
To email a single line, select the line, open the Handling menu and choose Send mail. When you handle the line this way, it is removed from the purchase journal once the email is sent.
Sending emails to vendors from the purchase management journal
In the purchase management journal you can send an email directly to your vendor. In a typical case, the vendor has already accepted the items, and you want to communicate about the order.
You have two options. You can send an email covering the whole purchase order, or you can send an email about just one of the lines.
Emailing a single purchase order line
If you only want to send an email about one specific line rather than the entire order, you select the line you want, then go to the Handling menu and choose Send mail.
The system handles the email per line. For example, line number 10,000 in the journal corresponds to line number one on the purchase order. So when you send the mail for that line, you are only contacting the vendor about that item.
Once you handle the line and send the mail, the line is removed from the purchase journal.
