In Business Central, you can create purchase orders and send them to your vendors by email directly from the requisition worksheet or the planning worksheet. This means you handle the entire process in one step instead of creating orders first and sending them separately.

You select the lines you want to act on, run the “Carry Out Action Message” function, and choose to both create the orders and send the email at the same time. Once the function completes, the purchase orders appear under your purchase orders with a handling status that confirms they have been created.

Create and send purchase orders from the worksheet

In purchase order management, you can create and email purchase orders directly from either the requisition worksheet or the planning worksheet. There is no need to jump between different parts of the system to get an order out to your vendor.

Start by selecting the lines you want to act on. With the relevant lines marked, go to the action button and find the functions for handling the journal. From here you can carry out the action message, create the orders, and send the email in one go.

Run the action and confirm

When you choose to create orders and send mail, confirm the action with OK. The system then creates the orders and opens an email window so the order can be sent to the vendor straight away.

Check the created purchase orders

Once the process is done, the orders are created. If you go to the purchase orders, you will see the new order listed with a handling status showing that it has been created. This gives you a clear confirmation that everything went through as expected.
