In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central you can send a purchase quote request to a vendor for a single line instead of the entire document. You do this from the purchase line by going to Related, then Line, and choosing Send Email. The email is generated automatically and references only the specific line you selected, identified by its line number.

Sending a request for a single purchase quote line

Sometimes you don’t need to send an entire purchase quote to a vendor. You just want a request on one line. Maybe it’s a new line you’ve added, or maybe you only need pricing or confirmation on a single item while the rest of the quote stays as it is.

Business Central lets you handle exactly that scenario without sending the whole document.

How to send the email from the purchase line

Start by opening the purchase quote and placing your cursor on the line you want to send a request for. From there:

  • Go to Related on the line
  • Choose Line
  • Select Send Email

The system creates the email for you, and it references only the line you selected. For example, the email might show that it concerns line number 20,000, which is the second line on the quote. From there you can send the mail to the vendor.

Why this is useful

This keeps your communication focused. Instead of forwarding a full purchase quote and asking the vendor to look at one specific line, you send a request that points directly to the item in question. It reduces the risk of misunderstandings and saves time on both ends.

Q&A

Can I send a purchase quote request for just one line in Business Central?

Yes. You can send an email request for a single purchase quote line instead of the entire document. Select the line, go to Related, then Line, and choose Send Email.

How does the recipient know which line the request concerns?

The generated email references the specific line number from the purchase quote. For example, it will state that it regards line number 20,000, so the vendor knows exactly which item the request applies to.
