When you contact a vendor about a purchase order, you often only need to ask about a single line rather than the entire order. In Business Central you can use the Handle and Send Mail action to send a mail to the vendor that includes just the specific line you want.
To send a mail about one purchase order line, select the line, go to Navigate, choose Handle, and then Send Mail. The resulting mail only includes the line you selected. The other lines on the purchase order are not sent to the vendor.
The difference between Handle and Handle and Send is that Handle and Send Mail sends a mail to your vendor.
Sending a mail about a single purchase order line
Once you have created your purchase order, you are ready to contact your vendor. In many situations you only need to communicate about one line on the order, not the whole document.
In this example, the goal is to send a mail to the vendor regarding only the first line on the purchase order. To do this, go to Navigate, then Handle, and choose Send Mail.
The difference between Handle and Handle and Send
You will see both a Handle option and a Handle and Send option. The only difference is that when you use Handle and Send, you send a mail to your vendor. So in this case you select Handle and Send Mail.
Only the selected line is included in the mail
After sending, the only line mentioned in the mail is line number 10,000. The two other lines on the purchase order are not sent to the vendor. This means you can communicate precisely about a single item without exposing the rest of the order.
