How to structure data in the card view in Business Central?

When opening an entity from a list view or creating a new entity, we will start in a card view.

This is what happens in the video

Here, we have the item card opened.

First, it will give us the number of the entity and the name, then we have the action bar with actions we can do on the card.

Under the action bar, we have different tabs.

In tabs, we group fields that are similar.

By clicking on the header of a tab, we can expand and collapse tabs.

On a tab, we also have the possibility to say Show more, and more fields will be shown.

On some tabs, it has been defined that fields are promoted, and therefore they will be shown if the tabs are collapsed, like here in the Costs and Posting tab.

Here, on the right-hand side, we have factboxes.

The factbox can show us aggregated data and other relevant information in connection to the card that we’re on.

We can hide the factbox by marking the Collapse FactBox pane.

At the top of the card, we can see if the card is in read-only or in edit mode.

Right now, it is in edit mode.

Now it is in read-only.

We can make a new card, or we can delete the entry.
