How to remove the filters from a list in Business Central?

If you made a filter on your list last time you were on a specific list, it will still be applied the next time you’re in the same list.

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the filters you apply to a list stay active. When you return to the same list later, your previous filter is still in place. Knowing how to remove a single filter field or reset all filters at once saves you from looking at an unexpectedly narrowed view of your data.

Filters persist between visits to a list in Business Central

When you set a filter on a list in Business Central, that filter is remembered. The next time you open the same list, the filter is still applied. This is useful when you want to keep working with the same subset of data, but it can also catch you off guard if you have forgotten which filters are active.

How to remove a single filter field

If you only want to clear one of the fields you filtered on, you can remove that field directly. Once you remove it, the list refreshes and shows the data without that particular filter applied.

How to reset all filters at once

If you want to clear everything, choose Reset Filters. This resets all of your predefined filters back to the default and shows the full list again. It is the quickest way to get back to a clean view when you have several filters in place and want to start over.
