This is what happens in the video
Saved filter views in Business Central let you store a combination of filters as a named view, so you can return to the exact same filtered list without setting up the filters again. This is useful when you regularly need to look at the same subset of records, for example customers that are partly blocked at a specific location.
You set up the filter once in the filter pane, save it as a view, and then select it from the saved views the next time you open the list page.
How to save a customized filter on a list in Business Central
Start from the list you want to filter. In this example, we use the customer list and open the filter pane.
Set up the filters you need. Here we filter on customers that are partly blocked, which means they can be blocked for either ship or invoice. We add a second filter on location so the view only includes customers at a specific location.
Once the filters are in place, you save the filter as a view. The view keeps both the filter criteria you have applied.
How to reuse a saved filter view
When you go back to your role center and open the customer list again, the saved view is available to select. Instead of building the filters from scratch, you pick the saved filter and the list shows the filtered records right away.
Q&A
What is a saved filter view in Business Central?
It is a named view that stores a combination of filters on a list page. You set up the filters once, save them as a view, and select the view later to see the same filtered list without re-entering the criteria.
Can I filter customers on more than one criterion at the same time?
Yes. In the example, the customer list is filtered on customers that are partly blocked (blocked for ship or invoice) and on a specific location at the same time, then saved as a single view.
How do I find a saved filter again?
Open the list page, for example the customer list. The saved view appears among the available views, and you select it to apply the stored filters instantly.
