Adding a new partner in Global Master Data Sync
When you create a new company in your setup, you typically need that company to receive the same master data as the rest of your organisation. In Global Master Data Sync you handle this by adding the new company as a partner, so it gets included in the synchronisation.
Start by going to the Partners list and pressing New. Type in the ID for the new partner and give it a description so it is easy to identify later.
Because this partner uses the data exchange type Database, you define the company name by clicking on the lookup and selecting the relevant company. In this example, the company is the subscriber.
While you are still setting things up, the partner stays On Hold. When the partner is ready to be set as active, you uncheck On Hold. At that point the partner is ready to synchronise data.
Q&A
How do I add a new company to Global Master Data Sync?
Go to the Partners list, press New, type in an ID and description, set the data exchange type, and select the company through the company name lookup.
What does the On Hold setting do for a partner?
On Hold keeps the partner inactive while you finish the setup. Uncheck On Hold when the partner is ready to start synchronising data.
How do I select which company a partner refers to?
When the partner uses the Database data exchange type, click the company name lookup and choose the relevant company.
