Master Data Management in Business Central lets you control exactly which records are synchronized between companies. Instead of syncing everything automatically, you can hand-pick individual records and push them across on demand. This article shows you how to synchronize selected master data records manually from a subscriber company.
You synchronize records by opening the list of records that have not yet been synchronized, marking the ones you want, and running the synchronize action from the Actions menu.
You can select a single record or mark several records at once to synchronize them in one operation.
After running the action, the system updates the synchronization status so you can see which records have been synchronized and which have not.
Synchronizing selected master data records in a subscriber company
In a subscriber company you often want to synchronize only one or a few specific records rather than the entire set of master data. Business Central gives you control over this directly from the list of records.
Start by opening the list of records that have not been synchronized yet. This view shows you everything that is still pending, so you know exactly what is available to push across.
Mark the record you want to synchronize. Then go to the Actions menu and choose Synchronize record data. The system processes the record and updates its status.
Checking synchronization status
Once a record has been synchronized, you can see its status change. The list clearly shows which records have been synchronized and which still need to be processed, so you always have an overview of where things stand.
Synchronizing several records at once
You are not limited to one record at a time. If you have several records that need to go across, mark all of them and run the synchronize action once. The system handles them together, and afterwards all the marked records show as synchronized.
