The Global Master functionality in Business Central lets you manage a master company and connect subscriber companies to it as partners. The setup happens in two main steps.

You start by configuring the master company in the Global Master Administrator role center. Under Global Master Setup, you set the company type to Master and assign a unique partner ID.

Once the master company is configured, you add subscriber companies as partners from the Partners list. You name each partner and link it to a company using the company name drop-down.

Setting up the master company

The configuration starts in the Global Master Administrator role center. From there, go to Setup and open Global Master Setup.

In the setup, select the company type Master. You also need to assign a unique partner ID to the company. These two settings define the company as your master.

Adding a subscriber company as a partner

With the master company in place, you can connect your subscriber companies. These are added as partners.

Go to the Partners list and select New from the ribbon. Give your partner a name, then pick the company you want to connect from the company name drop-down. That links the subscriber company to your master company.
