Before you can synchronize data between companies, you need to connect your partners to the data templates you have created. This article walks through the steps for pairing partners with data templates, verifying that a partner is active, and running the first synchronization between a master company and a subscriber company in Business Central.
You pair a partner with a data template from the partners list by selecting the partner and using the Assign Data Templates action.
Check that the partner is not on hold before synchronizing. Open the partner card and make sure the On Hold slider is turned off.
Run the synchronization in two steps. First create and send the subscriber file log from the master company. Then update and synchronize the record data from the subscriber company.
Assign data templates to your partners
Once you have created your data templates, and before you synchronize for the first time, you need to pair your partners with those templates.
Go to the partners list and select the partner you want to start synchronizing to. Then open the Assign Data Templates action. From the list, select one or more data templates that you want to start synchronizing, and click OK.
Make sure the partner is not on hold
Before you start synchronizing data, check that the partner is not currently on hold. Open the partner card and find the On Hold field. Make sure the slider is turned off, otherwise the synchronization will not run.
Run the synchronization from the master company
To start the process, go back to the role center. From the Tasks menu, select Master, then Create and Send Subscriber File Log. Click Yes to confirm.
Synchronize the data in the subscriber company
When the job has finished, switch to the subscriber company. Go to Tasks, then Subscriber, then Update and Synchronize Record Data. Click Yes to confirm.
After the synchronization runs, you can see the number of imported templates change from zero to one. In this example, that reflects the payment terms template having been synchronized.
