This is what happens in the video
When you work with intercompany trade in Business Central, you sometimes need to delete a sales order that has already been sent to your supply company. This article shows what happens on both sides when you delete the order, and how the supply company is notified.
When you delete a sales order that has been transferred to a supply company, Business Central sends a message to the supply company that the order has been deleted. The deletion is not automatic in the supply company. You still have to delete the corresponding order there manually.
You can delete a released sales order even after it has created a purchase order and a sales order in the supply company. The link between the two companies makes sure the supply company knows the order is no longer valid.
Why you might need to delete an intercompany sales order
There are a couple of common reasons to delete a sales order that has already been sent to your supply company. You might have created it by mistake, or the customer might have cancelled the order. In both cases you need a clean way to remove the order from both companies.
What happens when you delete the sales order
The starting point is a released sales order. On this order you can see the purchase order, the vendor order number, and the sales order number in the supply company. This tells you the order has already been created in the supply company.
When you delete the order in the selling company, Business Central asks you to confirm. Once you click OK, the order is gone from the selling company.
How the supply company is notified
If you then go to the supply company and open the corresponding order, you get a message saying the order has been deleted. This is the notification that the order on the other side no longer exists.
The order is not removed automatically in the supply company. You have to delete it manually. Once you do, the order is gone from the supply company as well, and both companies are back in sync.
