In Business Central, you control which locations a sales company can see and pick from across an intercompany setup. You define this on the intercompany partner record in the supply company.

You set up partner locations on the intercompany partner. This determines exactly which warehouse locations the sales company is allowed to see when checking stock.

Once the partner locations are configured, the sales company can view the projected inventory at those locations directly from a sales line, using the Item Availability by Intercompany function.

Defining partner locations in the supply company

The setup starts in the supply company, on the intercompany partner record for the sales company. This is where you decide which of your locations the sales company should have access to.

Open the intercompany partner for your sales company, for example Sales01. From there, navigate to Intercompany Partner and then to Partner Locations.

This is where you list the locations in your supply company that the sales company should be able to see. You might already have a couple of locations set up, and you can add more whenever you need to. Just add the additional locations you want the sales company to have visibility into.

Checking inventory from the sales company

Once the partner locations are in place, switch to the sales company. Open a sales order and go to a sales line.

On the sales line, click Line and then Item Availability by Intercompany. You now see all the locations you set up as partner locations, along with the projected inventory at each of them.

This gives the sales company a clear view of available stock across the supply company’s locations, without seeing more than you intended to share.
