When you finish a sales quote in Business Central, you can send it directly to the customer by email. The email address fills in automatically from the customer card, and the system attaches the quote as a PDF. Before this works, you need to configure your SMTP setup, which is covered in a separate guide.

Sending a sales quote by email from Business Central

When you have filled out a sales quote and want to send it to the customer, you can do this directly from the document using the print and send by email option.

The recipient’s email address is taken automatically from the customer card. If the email address on the customer card is blank, the address field in the email will also be blank, and you will need to fill it in manually.

Before you send, you can adjust the email itself. You can change the subject line, add more recipients, and write a short message to the customer. When you are ready, press OK to send the email. The quote is then sent to the customer.

SMTP setup is required for sending email

For email sending to work, your SMTP setup needs to be configured. Without this in place, the system cannot send the email. The SMTP configuration is shown in a separate video.
