This is what happens in the video

If you run multiple companies in the same Business Central database, it is easy to lose track of which company you are actually working in. A company badge solves that. It is a small visual label you place on the company so you can tell one company apart from another at a glance.

You set up the badge in Company Information under Company Badge. You can choose a custom badge, give it a text such as “Production”, and pick a colour like light green. After saving the setup, log out and back into your Role Center, and the badge appears. When you switch between companies, each one shows its own badge so you always know where you are.

Adding a Company Badge in Business Central

To add a badge, start by using the Tell Me search and look for “badge”. This takes you to the badge setting, which is located in the Company Information page.

Scroll down to the Company Badge section. Here you select the option for a custom badge. You can then enter the text you want to display. For a production company, for example, you might type “Production”.

You can also choose a colour for the badge. Picking something like light green makes the company easy to recognise.

Seeing the Badge in Your Role Center

Once you have added the badge, you need to log out and log back into your Role Center for it to show up. After that, the badge is visible, so you can immediately see that you are working in your production company.

When you open other companies in the same database, each one displays its own badge. That makes it simple to tell them apart and avoids confusion about which company your data and entries belong to.
