If you run production in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can register output directly from the shop floor overview. You select the operation line, enter the finished quantity, and set the routing status to finished in the same flow. Business Central fills in the production order and item number automatically, so you don’t have to type them in manually.
Registering output directly on an operation line
The shop floor overview gives you a quick way to register output on a specific operation. You can see the status of each operation directly, for example operation number 40 showing as in progress. From here you can change the status manually if you need to.
When you want to report the finished quantity, you use the Register Output action. This starts the output registration flow and pulls in the production order and item number for you, so the relevant fields are filled in automatically.
Entering finished quantity and setting routing status
In the registration flow you enter the output quantity for the operation. If the operation is complete, you can also change the routing status to finished at the same time.
When you confirm, Business Central records the output quantity and sets the routing status to finished. The operation is then done, and you’ve handled the whole registration in one step from the shop floor overview.
