The production order line page in the shop floor overview gives you a flexible way to control which production information your operators see. You decide which fields to display, you can add extra fields manually, and you can remove any columns you don’t need. The overview includes a manual priority field from the shop floor mobile app, which lets you sort production orders so the most important ones appear at the top of the list.
The manual priority is separate from the standard Business Central priority field. You can also filter the order lines using a process code, so you only show the lines relevant to a specific work area or operator.
Choosing which fields to show on the production order line page
On the production order line page, you select which fields to add to the overview. A few additional fields can be added manually, and you can remove any columns or fields you don’t want to see.
In the standard setup, the overview shows the following fields:
- Status
- Line number
- Item number (the item you are outputting)
- Variant code, if you use variants
- Description
- Location code
- Manual priority
- Quantity, finished quantity and remaining quantity
- Date and time fields
- Bill of material number and routing number
Using the manual priority field to sort production orders
The manual priority is a field added in the shop floor mobile app. You can change it on the operation line or on the production order itself when you navigate into the order. By adjusting the priority, you control the sorting in this view, so it’s easy to see that the production orders at the top should be done first.
Manual priority versus the standard Business Central priority
It’s worth keeping the two priority fields apart. The manual priority is the one you set from the shop floor mobile app. The priority field is the normal calculated Business Central priority field, so it behaves the way you already know from standard functionality.
Filtering production order lines with the process code
The overview also includes a process code field. You can filter on the process code if you want to show only some of the order lines. This is useful when you need to narrow the view down to a specific set of operations or work areas. The process code itself is explained in more detail in a separate video.
