The Move All Bin Content function in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central lets you move the entire contents of one bin to another bin in a single operation. You select a from bin code and a to bin code, confirm the registration, and all item entries move across at once.

You use this function when you work with production bins and need to relocate their contents, or when you use a pallet as a bin and want to move everything on it to a new location.

You can repeat the function as many times as you need to move content to several different bins.

What the Move All Bin Content function does

Move All Bin Content moves a full bin from one area to another in one step. Instead of moving items line by line, you transfer everything from a source bin to a destination bin at once.

This is useful in production scenarios. If you work with different production bins and need to shift their contents around, the function handles it in a single operation. It also works well when you treat a pallet as a bin and want to move the whole pallet’s contents to a new spot.

How to move content from one bin to another

Start by checking the bin content so you know what you are working with. In this example, bin 55.6 is empty, while bin 55.7 contains a lot of entries. The goal is to move everything from 55.7 into 55.6.

Then follow these steps:

  • Click Move All Bin Content.
  • Select your from bin code, which is the bin holding all the material.
  • Select your to bin code, which is the destination bin.
  • Press Yes to register the move.

The function moves everything from the source bin to the destination bin. You can repeat the same flow if you want to move content to other bins afterwards.

Checking the result

When you look at the bin content again, you see that the bin that was filled before is now empty, and the destination bin holds all the items. This confirms that the move completed and that you can rely on it to relocate full bins from one area to another.
