As part of the Reverse Planning, we have a functionality called Find Overstock Items. It’s possible to enter from the Reverse Planning journal or from the main menu.

You could also just have search from the main menu. In here, it’s just there.

And it’s possible to define different templates, overstock templates.

The scenario I have a template called Quantity, and the main purpose of this tool is to identify items that we have too much of on inventory.

The reason for that will be that in the Reverse Planning, we only suggest new orders or changes to dates on orders, but we cannot find if we have too many items on stock.

So, if you have a sales order, it triggers a Reverse Planning, critical item, and you order the item or you want to place an order, and the sales order demands disappear again for some reason, we have no function to cancel orders like in the normal MRP journal.

So, for instance here, I could set up, I want to look for items where the safety stock quantity on the end inventory level exceeds five, or the reorder quantity on the end inventory exceeds two.

And then I can calculate items that fulfill one of those two criteria.

And the item will show up here in the footer section.

So, I have in this scenario five items where my end inventory, the end inventory quantities exceeds either the safety stock quantity or reorder quantity by the multiples I’ve added up here.

And in this way, it’s possible to filter or to define filters on multiple of quantities or on different values.

And I will run through those in different videos to see how it works.
