One of the issues that we often see when you use normal MRP planning or the planning worksheet is that the item needs to be set up correctly to show up and to be planned correctly in the planning worksheet.
And for instance, if you forget to set up reordering policy or replenishment system on the item, it won’t show up in the journal at all.
And that’s of course is a big issue and I’ve seen often that customers have forgot to set up that up on item and then they just don’t show up.
So, for instance here in this planning worksheet, if I’m scrolling down, and of course this is an thought example that I’ve made, item number 1450 is not here.
So, if I’m filtering on item numbers just to show you the example here.
And actually on the item card for this item, we do have planning reordering policy.
But the problem is that there’s a SKU card also and on the SKU card it’s not set up for some reason.
Somebody has deleted it and therefore the item won’t show up.
Whereas if I use the more simple Reverse Planning, just calculating simple for critical items, figuring out is the item going below safety stock or zero, it will show up anyway because it’s easy for just to calculate the quantities for the item.
So, on the MRP side, you need to set up data much more correctly to make it work nicely.
