What happens if you delete lines or fields in the Information Matrix

So if we update data in the information matrix, it also updates the actual data.

So as an example here on item thousand, I’m sure you, we have the unit price being 5,000 something.

And if I’m going into specifications in this one, I can see that my material is aluminum.

If we go into the information matrix, there will be some interesting issues here because now I just imported all the items before this video.

If I delete the items in here, it doesn’t mean that it deletes the actual items.

So the list of items is just the list that I’m working on.

So even though I’m deleting everything in here, the item still exist and I didn’t change any data.

If I’m importing data, again, let’s just import items.

Again, of course, it will just import the same item.

So deleting lines in the information matrix is just a way of deleting what I’m working on.

Whereas if I actually delete data in the information matrix.

So if we take the first line on item thousand, and I delete the unit price by entering zero, because it’s a decimal field, it will update the item card with zero.

Likewise, if I find my material and I delete the material in here, it asks me, it already found an information value.

Would you like to update that? And if I say yes,
I actually removed the material from the item card, but I didn’t remove the field or the line with the information value, meaning first of all, I deleted the price, so the price is deleted here.

Secondly, I removed the aluminum, but it left the material line in here.

So just blank.

The field, the information value field, so it’s not actually deleting.

I could delete here.

Also manually the information code line just like this.

But from the information matrix, it will only delete the information value in here.

And of course, you could enter both again by, just enter the data again, by entering the information in here manually.

I think it was a little expensive, this one, like this.

Or you could enter the specification, or of course you could do it again in the information matrix.

Now I just added the price again, and I could have added the material also, or just by entering it in the information matrix.

So in this way, it’s updating data when you actually change the information matrix.
