Log inLet’s take a look at which table in business central master data information can be used for.
And before we do that, let’s look at an ERP system, just like an overall view.
So you have many different departments working with many different tables or many different functions and it’s a very complex overview.
So if we take all the way, the specific actions in here, it’s a little more easy to understand.
And I will explain this per department because it often makes sense to view per department which master data you want to use.
So let’s start with the item department where you do items and you apply master data for like PIM systems, et cetera.
On that department.
Of course we have master data information on the item itself, but we also supply stock keeping units, unit of measures, references, variance and item categories.
As for now, if we look at the sales department, of course you have master data on the customer and also some tables applying to the customer.
And I’m not going to read up any of those tables.
You can take, uh, stop the video and see all the tables in the rest of this video if you want to have all the details.
But beside customers, we have sales orders and all the open order documents or type of open documents.
And likewise the post-IT documents.
On the sales side, we also have master dates applied directly to item tracking lines and the post-IT item tracking lines where you can have item flowing from lot number and serial number information card to the open orders and the post-it orders.
And finally on the sales side we have master data on service item group and service items.
If we look at the purchase side, it’s a lot like the sell side.
So we have vendors with master data underlying table supplying the vendor table with master data information.
You have the purchase order of course, and the other open purchase documents and you have the posted purchase documents.
Just like on the sale side we have item tracking line as well.
On the purchase side, if we look at the manufacturing or the production, if you use that module in Business Central, you have master dates information on release production orders, and on the standard or the basic setup table, you have routing tools and production bum also with master data.
As for now, we don’t have master data information on routing header online only the routing tool and production bum.
And you have master data on firm plan production orders, production order company lines on the open orders, firm plan orders and release order.
And they finish production orders.
And if you don’t use the production module, but only the assembly orders, you Also have master data on assembly orders and posted assembly orders.
In the inventory you have master data on warehouse received and posted warehouse received.
On the inbound side you have master data on warehouse shipment and posted warehouse shipment on the outbound side.
And you have master data on warehouse pick and internal warehouse pick.
You don’t have master data on put away document as for now.
But we also have master data information on the serial number information and lot number information card in the finance module.
We as for now, have master data on the chart of accounts and on fixed assets.
And finally in the project module or what used to be called the job module, you have master data on projects on project, task line and project planning line.
So this is all the tables that master data applied to.
As for now.
