This is what happens in the video
If you work with warehouse management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can view bin content per item directly from the item card or the item list. You do not need to dig through warehouse documents to find out where a specific item is stored. The bin content view shows you every bin where the item is placed, along with the quantity in each location.
If you use directed put-away and pick, the bin content also shows the quantity in the unit of measure. Business Central can distinguish between unit of measure codes at both bin content level and warehouse entry level. This means you can store and track the same item in different units, such as pieces and boxes, and still keep an accurate picture of what is where.
How to view bin content per item in Business Central
Open the item you want to look at, either from the item list or by opening the item card. From there, find the action called Bin Content, or search for it. The action is available on both the item list and the item card, so you can reach it from whichever page you happen to be on.
When you open Bin Content for a specific item, you see all the bins where the item is placed. In many cases an item is spread across several different bins, and this view gives you the full overview in one place.
Quantities and units of measure in bin content
For each bin, you can see the quantity (base) for the item. If you use directed put-away and pick, you also see the quantity in the relevant unit of measure. Business Central handles unit of measure codes both at bin content level and at warehouse entry level, so you can tell the different units apart and keep your stock figures accurate.
