How do you get a source document on an inventory pick?
Being a warehouse employee, it’s possible to import or get source documents into an inventory pick from sales orders, purchase orders, return orders, etc. And the order documents needs to be released, of course, so if I’m creating an inventory pick manually, create a new one.
This is what happens in the video
If you work in a warehouse and use inventory picks in Business Central, you can pull source documents directly into the pick instead of typing everything manually. The source documents come from sales orders, purchase orders, return orders, and other outbound documents.
The source document must be released before you can pick from it. Once released, you use the Get Source Document function on the inventory pick. This lists all released documents that have a warehouse request and that do not already have a put-away or pick attached. You select the ones you want and import them into the pick.
Creating an inventory pick from source documents
As a warehouse employee, you can get source documents into an inventory pick from sales orders, purchase orders, return orders, and similar documents. The order documents need to be released first.
If you create an inventory pick manually, you start a new pick and then use the Get Source Document function to import the source document. This function lists all the documents that are released and where there is a warehouse request. That includes purchase return orders and other outbound documents.
From this list, you select the orders that do not already have a put-away or pick associated with them, and import them into your inventory pick.
